Welcome!
My name is Katherine Rone, and the name of my website (katsong) is a shortened version of “Katherine’s song.” I am a spiritual counselor, an energy healer, and an astrologer.
My purpose is to help you achieve life balance and wellness, by tuning into your own song, the one that reflects your heart in every choice you make. This I like to call “heart centered” counseling, because once you connect to that light within, you are sure to find your own way with greater ease and clarity. I do this with readings of your energy field, chakras, and astrology charts. I also use plain, old fashioned counseling and coaching techniques, and as needed, I send you energy via long distance Reiki and energy healing techniques.
In a nutshell though, what distinguishes my approach from some others is that I focus on what is good about you first, and then teach you how to use your strengths to balance and correct whatever is lacking or extreme.

I Believe in Love
I believe in love, that it is the source of miracles and the place where we meet God in our own hearts. God is very real to me, yet I do not adhere to any one religion. Even as a young child, I knew Jesus Christ to be a universal energy of love, belonging to everyone here on earth. The only requirement for conversing with God is to ask. If you can open your heart, you will get a faster answer, but even if you are in a bad mood, the universe will try to bring love to you anyway that it can.
Baptized as an infant in the Presbyterian Church, I grew up in a loving family who allowed me to visit the churches of my friends and make up my own mind. I was also lucky to have elders in my family who studied metaphysics, and shared inspirational ideas about how we co-create our world with the universe of Love. I read books such as the Seth series by Jane Roberts, and I still collect inspirational wisdom, such as the currently popular DVD, The Secret.
Several times in my life I felt as though I was a “sort of minister” by nature. In all my professional roles, I have found myself validating others’ experience, “being a listener” and sharing spiritual energy with people. In my youth though, I always felt myself a bit of an outsider from conventional churches, because they provided little guidance regarding intuitive sense-abilities too loud for me to ignore. I needed to go beyond convention to develop my skills, because "intuition training" was not readily available in a small, southern town in the 1960's.
I became ordained with the Order of Melchizedek, Sanctuary of the Beloved, in 1998. This is a church for what I personally like to call “maverick priests” like myself. We may or may not have organized churches on our own, and some of us do not even tell others we are ordained. What we do is to to serve God’s love through whatever career, church, or lifestyle vehicle we are already in. Our primary instructions are to keep our teachings of Universal Love simple and sacred, and I like that.
I Believe in You
In keeping with my above faith, I know that God can and does touch anyone, anywhere and at any time that he or she requests. You do not have to belong to any particular religion, culture, or ideology. You do not have to read any particular books, chant any special words or have a vast knowledge of spiritual subjects. You only need to be who you are with an open heart, and Truth will appear for you.
It is, just as Jesus said, as simple as "becoming like a child." This means to tune into that part of you that is innocent of ego, and only wants "everybody to be happy." I call this part of you your Higher Self, which is not childish at all, but so advanced that it is your direct connection to Divine Spirit.
My philosophy is that your innate body and spirit know how to direct you to your Highest Good. My job, or the job of any guide or healer, is simply to help you realign your conscious mind with your Higher Self. Whether I can do this with words or simply by sharing Higher Vibrational energy with you during a session, miracles can happen when you open to your core self.
I am a Spiritual Counselor, Energy Healer, and Astrologer
I have always been “extra sensitive” and able to perceive energies that others do not notice. My strongest senses include clairsentience, clairaudience, and clairvoyance. This means that I am able to "feel" what other people are feeling emotionally and physically, that I can "read" thoughts, and that I "see" visions that "explain" situations to me. My favorite skill is my ability to sense colors around people. When I continue to focus on the color in someone’s field, I get “story visions” that illustrate important truths. These truths tend to be the kind that are internal and of the spirit. They often explain “why” something is happening (or not) and what needs to be altered to get the energy moving or harmonious again. I do also get concrete information at times (names, dates, yes or no if this will happen, etc.) but these details are rarely as strong or consistent for me as the symbolic, spiritual messages. I am able to see into physical bodies with relative ease, as well as into the motivations and hearts of humans and animals. Past life information is common in my readings.
My abilities are sharpest when they are used as part of a session focused on self-awareness, self-healing, and finding gentle ways to achieve happiness and success.
I have been an energy healer since childhood, though I had no idea what that was back then! I observed that my mind could “move energy” sometimes though, and as I grew up I was fascinated with all things to do with psychology, metaphysics, and mind-over-matter things.
Once I began to study energy healing, I realized that I had been using it all my life. My education and practice are diverse; however, they do include the study of systems from Barbara Brennan's "Hands of Light," Taoist Cosmic Healing, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Huna, and related systems of energy therapies, including Shiatsu. I have recently become a certified, registered reflexologist in my work with local clients.
I have been certified and attuned as a Level Three Reiki Master since 2001. I received my attunements in Reiki I and Reiki II in 1998. I use energy healing in my distance counseling work to share healing vibrations and visions with clients during phone sessions.
Astrology is an old love of mine, which I still find to be a fabulous tool for helping people to understand their personalities, and to understand the universal energies that are "playing" in their lives at any given time. I began studying astrology at the age of 13 because I just knew there was more to my personality than my sun sign (Capricorn) depicted. I ordered a chart and discovered that, sure enough, I have the moon in Pisces (psychic) and a lot of personal planets in fire signs and houses (creative), not to mention a very strong connection with the planet Uranus and Pluto (emotional depth and astrology) I have been a devotee of this complicated, psychological assessment art ever since.
I Have a Conservative, Clinical Therapy Background
I majored in psychology in undergraduate school, learning lots of theories about how people think and how the mind works. Then I spent the next decade working as a writer and photographer to satisfy my creative side. I returned for a master’s degree in therapeutic recreation. Recreational therapists use a combination of counseling, teaching, and hands-on practice with clients to help them find activities that bring a sense of joy and balance to life, and create a healing influence on whatever dis-ease process is going on. After receiving my master's degree in 1990, I worked for the next ten years in psychiatric hospitals with patients of all ages, from 5 to 95. I also taught stress management and wellness classes to community and business groups during this time.
I enjoyed this work immensely until found myself needing "more." It was soon afterwards that I entered into my next phase of life, in which I have devoted myself fully to developing and openly expressing my intuitive abilities. My greatest passion now is to share the knowledge I have gained with others, so that more of us will learn to heal ourselves and one another by simply "vibrating health, happiness and love."
